Slow Cooker Collard Greens

collard greens, washed, trimmed and chopped
The base

turkey bacon or bacon of choice, chopped

minced garlic

apple cider vinegar

Instructions
- Spray the slow cooker with cooking spray and set it to sauté.
- Cook the bacon for 5 minutes.
- Add the onion and cook for an additional 8 minutes.
- Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Transfer the mixture to the slow cooker and switch to slow cooker mode.
- Add chicken broth, collard greens, apple cider vinegar, Old Bay seasoning, celery seeds, honey, crushed red pepper flakes, black pepper, and sea salt.
- Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until the greens are tender.
