Ingredients

The butter

  • ½ cup unsalted butter

The herbs and spices

  • 1 bunch green onion
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Clean and trim the ends of the green onion, then set aside.
  2. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add the green onion.
  3. Cook the green onion until roasted on all sides, about 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool on a cutting board.
  5. Once cooled, finely chop the green onion and place in a medium bowl.
  6. Add the softened butter and spices to the bowl, mixing well until combined.
  7. Transfer the mixture onto parchment paper and roll it into a log.
  8. Freeze or refrigerate until ready to use.
