Ingredients

The cookie dough

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • cup granulated sugar
  • cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 unit egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk

The topping

  • 24 unit chocolate candy kisses

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixer, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. Add the peanut butter, egg, and vanilla, mixing until light and fluffy.
  4. Incorporate the flour, baking soda, and salt until a dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough into 24-30 balls and optionally roll in sugar before placing on baking sheets.
  6. Bake for 9-12 minutes until puffed and lightly golden.
  7. Press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie immediately after removing from the oven.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
