Ingredients

The cookie dough

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

The topping

  • 36 Hershey’s kiss candies

For rolling

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. In a stand mixer, beat the butter, brown sugar, and ¼ cup granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the peanut butter, egg, milk, and vanilla to the mixture and mix until creamy.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix on low speed until just combined.
  6. Scoop heaping tablespoons of dough, roll into balls, and coat in the remaining granulated sugar.
  7. Arrange the dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, leaving at least 1 inch between them.
  8. Bake one sheet at a time for about 8 minutes, until fine cracks form on the tops.
  9. Press a chocolate kiss into the top of each cookie immediately after removing from the oven.
  10. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
