Ingredients

Quick Mustard Sauce

  • ½ – ⅔ cup real mayo or hummus
  • ¼ cup dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ – ½ teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ teaspoon ground mustard (optional)
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs (optional)
  • 1 – 2 tablespoons honey or agave nectar
  • to taste kosher salt
  • to taste pepper

For the Air Fryer Salmon

  • 3 fillets salmon (fresh or frozen)
  • to taste kosher salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 2 tablespoons quick mustard sauce or sauce of choice for brushing
  • as needed cooking oil spray

Instructions

  1. Make the mustard sauce by blending all sauce ingredients until smooth.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
  3. For frozen salmon, spray the air fryer basket and place the salmon skin side down. Cook for 5 minutes to thaw.
  4. Season the thawed salmon with salt and pepper, brush with sauce, and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes.
  5. Check the internal temperature to ensure it reaches 140-145°F. If needed, cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  6. Let the salmon rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  7. For fresh salmon, season, spray the basket, and cook for 3-4 minutes. Brush with sauce and cook for another 4-7 minutes, checking the temperature.
