Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
- Layer the bread, followed by the peppers, tomatoes, and ham, then sprinkle cheese on top.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, ground mustard, smoked paprika, and pepper, then pour over the layered ingredients.
- Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight.
- Let the casserole sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before baking.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (191°C).
- Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, then loosely cover with foil and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes until browned and puffy.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
