Instructions
- Preheat the oven and grease a casserole dish.
- Tear or cut the bread into pieces and spread them in the dish.
- Cook the bacon or ham and place it on top of the bread.
- Sauté garlic and onion, then add spinach until wilted.
- Layer the sautéed veggies over the bread and meat, then sprinkle cheese on top.
- Whisk together the custard ingredients and pour over the layered mixture.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
- Bake uncovered, then loosely cover and continue baking until golden and set.
- Let rest before serving and garnish if desired.
