Classic Dark Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (375°F for high altitude).
  2. Line a 9-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil and spray with baking spray or lightly butter and dust with flour.
  3. Melt the butter and chocolate together in a small saucepan over low heat.
  4. In a stand mixer, beat the sugar, eggs, and vanilla on high until creamy, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Add the warm chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and beat until shiny and creamy.
  6. Add the flour and salt, and pulse the mixer on low until just combined.
  7. Spread the batter in the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool on a wire rack and allow to cool completely before cutting.
