Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 ⅓ cups warm water
  • 3 ½ cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons dry yeast
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • as needed cornmeal for dusting pan

Toppings

  • as needed pizza sauce
  • as needed shredded mozzarella cheese
  • as needed favorite toppings

Crust Seasoning

  • as needed olive oil to brush edges
  • as needed sea salt
  • as needed black pepper
  • as needed granulated garlic
  • as needed oregano

Instructions

  1. Combine yeast and warm water in a bowl and let sit until foamy.
  2. Add flour, olive oil, salt, and sugar, then mix and knead until smooth and elastic.
  3. Shape the dough into a ball, coat with olive oil, cover, and let rise until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the dough, divide into three pieces, and let rest for 15 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  6. Flatten each piece of dough and shape into a circle with a rim.
  7. Spread sauce on the crust and top with mozzarella and other toppings.
  8. Brush the edges with olive oil and sprinkle with seasoning.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until crust is golden.
  10. Slice and serve.
