Instructions
- 1. Proof the yeast by stirring together the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- 2. In a stand mixer bowl, combine the flour and salt, then add the yeast mixture and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
- 3. Mix on medium speed until the dough forms a ball around the hook, about 5 to 6 minutes, adjusting with more flour or water as needed.
- 4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead into a smooth ball.
- 5. Brush a large bowl with olive oil, place the dough inside, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- 6. Once risen, turn the dough onto a floured surface and stretch it to fit a 14-inch pizza pan.
- 7. Top and bake according to your pizza recipe, typically at 500°F for 10 to 13 minutes until browned.
