Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Combine masa harina and salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add 1½ cups of hot water and stir until a dough forms, adjusting with more water if necessary.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp towel and let it rest for 1 hour.
  4. Shape the dough into golf ball-sized balls.
  5. Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  6. Flatten each ball using a tortilla press or rolling pin between parchment paper.
  7. Cook the tortillas on the hot skillet for 1 minute on each side.
  8. Transfer cooked tortillas to a plate lined with a cloth to keep warm.
  9. Repeat until all dough is used, then serve or store.
