Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 6 oz container plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup canola oil
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup dried cherries
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and prepare a muffin pan with cooking spray or paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cocoa powder until smooth.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, mix the brown sugar, yogurt, canola oil, and egg until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just moistened.
  5. Gently fold in the dried cherries and mini chocolate chips.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.
  7. Bake for 15–17 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
