Crock Pot Sausage and Peppers

Instructions
- Coat the slow cooker with nonstick spray.
- In a skillet, heat ½ tablespoon of oil and brown half of the sausages on all sides.
- Transfer the browned sausages to the slow cooker.
- Repeat browning with the remaining sausages.
- In the skillet, add the remaining oil, onions, water, salt, and pepper, cooking until the onions start to brown.
- Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking for an additional minute, then add wine and let it evaporate.
- Transfer the onion mixture to the slow cooker with the sausages.
- Add bell peppers and crushed tomatoes to the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours or high for 2 to 3 hours until sausages are tender.
- Serve over pasta or in rolls with cheese.
