Ingredients

The main ingredients

  • 19 ounce Italian Sausage Links
  • 2 large Bell Peppers
  • 1 large Yellow Onion
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 14.5 ounce Crushed Tomatoes
  • ½ cup Chicken Broth

Seasonings

  • 1 Tablespoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
  • ½ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown the sausage links in a skillet and transfer them to the slow cooker.
  2. Add the bell peppers, onion, and garlic to the slow cooker.
  3. Arrange the browned sausages over the vegetables.
  4. Pour crushed tomatoes and chicken broth over the sausages and vegetables.
  5. Add the Italian seasoning, dried basil, red pepper flakes, kosher salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 5-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until sausages are cooked and peppers are tender.
  7. Optionally, slice the sausages and stir them back into the mixture before serving.
  8. Serve with hoagie rolls, rice, or mashed potatoes.
