Instructions
- Brown the sausage links in a skillet and transfer them to the slow cooker.
- Add the bell peppers, onion, and garlic to the slow cooker.
- Arrange the browned sausages over the vegetables.
- Pour crushed tomatoes and chicken broth over the sausages and vegetables.
- Add the Italian seasoning, dried basil, red pepper flakes, kosher salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on low for 5-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until sausages are cooked and peppers are tender.
- Optionally, slice the sausages and stir them back into the mixture before serving.
- Serve with hoagie rolls, rice, or mashed potatoes.
