Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line 2 baking trays with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt, then set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix butter, sugars, and vanilla using a hand mixer until light and pale.
- Slowly mix in the egg and yolk one at a time until just combined.
- Add the flour mixture and mix until well combined.
- Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30-45 minutes.
- Scoop the dough into ping-pong size balls, about 2 tablespoons each.
- Roll the cookie dough balls until smooth.
- Add extra chocolate chips on top of the cookie dough balls.
- Space the cookie dough balls 2-3 inches apart on the baking trays.
- Bake for 11 minutes until slightly golden on the edges.
- Allow to cool on the trays for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
