Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda, then set aside.
- Melt 10 tablespoons of butter in a skillet until it turns dark golden brown and has a nutty aroma.
- Transfer the browned butter to a bowl and mix in the remaining butter until melted.
- Add sugars, vanilla, and salt to the butter and whisk until combined.
- Incorporate the egg and egg yolk, whisking until smooth, then let it rest and whisk again multiple times.
- Stir in the flour mixture until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
- Divide the dough into 16 portions and place them on the baking sheets.
- Bake one tray at a time for 10-14 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
- Cool the cookies on a wire rack before serving.
