Ingredients

The dough

  • 7 tablespoons salted butter
  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

The chocolate

  • 1 cup mixed varieties of chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and melt half of the butter in a bowl until soft.
  2. 2. Let the melted butter cool to room temperature.
  3. 3. Cream together the butter, white sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until fluffy.
  4. 4. Beat in the egg until fully incorporated.
  5. 5. Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
  6. 6. Stir in chocolate chips with a wooden spoon.
  7. 7. Roll ¼ cup of dough into balls and place on a baking sheet.
  8. 8. Bake for about 9 minutes until puffy and slightly browned.
  9. 9. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes before serving.
