Ingredients

The dough

  • 2-½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • 8 oz butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

The chocolate

  • 1-½ 12oz bags semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda in a bowl and set aside.
  3. Cream the butter and sugars together in a stand mixer until combined.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla, then beat until smooth.
  5. Mix in the flour using a spatula until the dough is stiff.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop heaping tablespoonfuls of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden.
  9. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
