Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Add the egg and egg yolk to the butter mixture and whisk until well combined.
- Whisk in the vanilla extract.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix with a spatula until mostly combined.
- Add the chocolate chips and mix until a soft cookie dough forms.
- Cover and refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes and up to 2 days.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Use a cookie scoop to portion the dough onto the baking sheets, leaving space between cookies.
- Bake one sheet at a time for 9 to 11 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
