Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 10¾ oz unsalted butter
  • 10¼ oz light brown sugar
  • oz granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 T pure vanilla extract
  • 17 oz unbleached all-purpose flour
  • tsp table salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs and vanilla, mixing until well blended.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients with the butter mixture until just blended.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Portion the dough into 1¾ oz balls and chill for at least three hours.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  8. Place the dough balls on an ungreased jelly roll pan and flatten slightly.
  9. Bake for 8-11 minutes, rotating halfway through, until slightly underbaked.
  10. Let the cookies sit for 5 minutes on the tray before transferring to a cooling rack.
