Instructions
- Combine flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt in a large bowl and whisk together.
- In a medium bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the egg and egg yolk to the butter mixture and whisk until combined.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 hours or overnight.
- Allow the dough to soften at room temperature for 10 minutes before baking.
- Preheat the oven to 325°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Portion the dough into 20 balls, shaping them taller than wider.
- Bake for 12-13 minutes until edges are lightly browned, then cool on the sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
