Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons light butter, softened
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg white
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 ½ cups white whole wheat flour
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add the vanilla, egg white, and water to the mixture and stir to combine.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Combine the dry mixture with the wet mixture until fully incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8-12 minutes until cookies are done, then transfer to a cooling rack.
