Pear and Sharp Cheddar Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1 piece ripe pear, cored and sliced
  • 2 oz sharp cheddar cheese, thinly sliced or shredded
  • 1 tbsp butter, softened
  • 4 slices hearty bread

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat a griddle or skillet on medium-high heat.
  2. 2. Butter two slices of bread on one side and place them buttered side down onto the skillet.
  3. 3. Top the bread with pear slices and cheese, layering a little cheese on the bread first, then the pears, and then the remaining cheese.
  4. 4. Butter the remaining bread slices and place them on top of the sandwiches, butter side up.
  5. 5. Cook until the bottom of the sandwich is browned, about 3-5 minutes.
  6. 6. Flip over and cook for another 3-5 minutes.
