Homemade Strawberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 Tablespoons warm water
  • 1 lb strawberries, hulled and sliced in half
  • ½ small lemon zest and juice
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Whisk the cornstarch and water together until dissolved.
  2. Place the cornstarch mixture and the other ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Stir the mixture as it cooks, breaking up some strawberries.
  4. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
