Ingredients

The Ribs

  • 1 slab St Louis Style Ribs

The Rub and Sauce

  • 1 cup all purpose BBQ rub
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup all purpose BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup apple juice
  • 3 tbsp butter

For Wrapping

  • 1 piece foil or butcher paper

Instructions

  1. Remove the outer membrane from the ribs using a butter knife and paper towel.
  2. Rub olive oil over the ribs and apply the BBQ rub evenly.
  3. Place the ribs in the smoker with the meaty side up and smoke for 3 hours at 225°F.
  4. After 3 hours, wrap the ribs in foil with apple juice and butter, then smoke for another 2 hours.
  5. After 2 hours, unwrap the ribs and place them back on the smoker, covering with BBQ sauce.
  6. Increase the smoker temperature to 300°F and smoke for an additional hour.
