Ingredients

The Ribs

  • 2 slabs baby back ribs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp BBQ rub
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • ¾ cup apple juice
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar

Hot Honey

  • 1 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Remove the membrane from the underside of the ribs using a butter knife and paper towel.
  2. Pat down the ribs to remove excess moisture and drizzle with olive oil, then coat with BBQ rub.
  3. Set the grill to 250°F and smoke the ribs for 2 hours.
  4. Prepare the hot honey by simmering honey, then adding vinegar and red pepper flakes, and let it steep.
  5. Make the BBQ sauce glaze by combining BBQ sauce and vinegar in a saucepan and reducing it over medium heat for 10 minutes.
  6. After 2 hours, wrap the ribs in foil with butter and apple juice, then return to the smoker for another 2 hours.
  7. Increase the grill temperature to 350°F and glaze the ribs with BBQ sauce, cooking for about 45 minutes.
  8. Drizzle hot honey on the ribs before serving.
