Ingredients

The patties

  • 1 pound ground chuck beef
  • cup blanched almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • tablespoons minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

The gravy

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter or olive oil
  • ½ cup sliced onions
  • 1 cup mushrooms
  • cups beef broth
  • ½ teaspoon xanthan gum
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • to taste salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine ground chuck beef with Italian seasoning, almond flour, minced onions, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and beaten egg.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 oval-shaped patties.
  3. Cook the patties in a pan with olive oil over medium-high heat for 4-6 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  4. Remove the patties and set aside, covering them to keep warm.
  5. In the same pan, add butter and deglaze the pan.
  6. Add sliced onions and mushrooms, cooking until soft.
  7. Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, and deglaze the pan.
  8. In a separate bowl, combine 1-2 tablespoons of the gravy with xanthan gum until thick.
  9. Add the thickened mixture back to the gravy and stir until thickened.
  10. Return the beef patties to the pan with the gravy and stir to coat.
