Ingredients

Chocolate Mixture

  • ¼ cup cocoa powder or raw cacao powder
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup or agave
  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp all-natural nut butter (e.g., cashew butter)
  • ¼ tsp fine grain sea salt

Garnish

  • to taste unsweetened shredded coconut

Optional Pink Glaze

  • ½ cup icing (confectioner’s) sugar
  • 1 large strawberry
  • ½-1 tbsp strawberry jam

Strawberries

  • 24-28 strawberries

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the strawberries, then set aside.
  2. In a small pot, whisk together the maple syrup, coconut oil, nut butter, and cocoa powder over low to medium heat until melted.
  3. Dip the strawberries into the chocolate mixture, coating most of the strawberry, and place them on parchment paper or a wire rack.
  4. Sprinkle the dipped strawberries with shredded coconut and chill in the fridge to set.
  5. For the optional pink glaze, blend the icing sugar, strawberry, and jam in a mini food processor until smooth.
  6. Pipe the glaze onto the strawberries and return them to the fridge until firm.
