Ingredients

Strawberry Filling

Biscuit Topping

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 10 tablespoons cold butter
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix strawberries with sugar, cornstarch, salt, and lemon juice, then spread in the prepared pan.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles pea-sized crumbs.
  5. Stir in buttermilk until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Scoop the biscuit topping in spoonfuls over the strawberry filling and sprinkle with sugar.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until biscuits are golden and filling is bubbling.
  8. Let rest for 10-15 minutes before serving warm or at room temperature.
