Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut the Italian bread lengthwise and place it face up on the baking sheet.
- Brush the surface of the bread with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder.
- Cover the bread with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle cheese on top, and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and has brown spots.
- Remove from the oven, brush with garlic herb butter if desired, let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve immediately.
