Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup cold unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • ¾ cup cold plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for brushing on biscuits)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, beaten egg, and cold water.
  5. Add the liquid ingredients to the flour mixture and stir until the dough barely comes together.

  7. Roll out the dough into a 1-inch thick circle and cut into rounds or squares.
  8. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheets and brush with the egg wash.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and serve warm.
