Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
- 2. Beat the softened butter, maple syrup, salt, and almond extract together until well combined.
- 3. Gradually mix in the flour, adding a teaspoon or two of water if necessary to form a dough.
- 4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.
- 5. Cut the dough into desired shapes and pierce with a fork for decoration.
- 6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown on the bottom.
- 7. Transfer cookies to a cooling rack and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
