The buns

Instructions
- Combine all ingredients except the buns in the slow cooker, squeezing the whole tomatoes over the other ingredients and pouring in the juice.
- Cover and cook on low for 4½ hours until the lentils are tender.
- Toast the buns until golden and fill them with the lentil mixture.
