Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sauté the onion and green pepper for about eight minutes until softened, then add the garlic and sauté for another couple of minutes.
- Add the cooked lentils, chili powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, and season with salt and pepper.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste, and cook for about ten minutes.
- Stir in the maple syrup and mustard, and cook for another two minutes.
- Serve the filling on toasted Kaiser rolls or hamburger buns.
