Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup steel-cut oats
  • ΒΌ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Combine water and salt in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, add the steel-cut oats and stir, then return to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered loosely, for about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Once oats are tender and liquid is mostly evaporated, turn off heat and let sit covered for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve the oatmeal immediately, garnished with your choice of toppings.
