Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a large pot.
- Add steel cut oats and salt, then stir.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- When oats thicken, add milk and vanilla, stirring together.
- Cook for an additional 10 minutes.
- Add cinnamon and any desired toppings.
- Serve hot or cool and portion into containers for reheating later.
