Ingredients

The seeds

  • cup flax seeds (whole, raw)
  • 2 tablespoons flax seed meal
  • ½ cup chia seeds (whole)
  • ½ cup sunflower seeds (raw)
  • ½ cup pumpkin seeds (raw)
  • 1-2 teaspoons sesame seeds (optional)

The seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried herbs
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast (optional)

Additional flavorings

  • to taste black pepper
  • to taste chili powder
  • to taste garlic powder
  • to taste onion powder

Other

  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix all the seeds and seasonings together, then pour the water over the mixture.
  3. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to allow the flax and chia to thicken.
  4. Spread the thickened mixture evenly on the baking sheet to about ¼ inch thickness.
  5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, then remove from the oven and cut into squares.
  6. Flip the crackers and return them to the oven for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Allow the crackers to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
