Ingredients

The base

  • 1 cup flax seeds
  • 1 cup water

The seeds

  • cup sunflower seeds
  • ¼ cup sesame seeds
  • 2-3 tbsp pepita seeds

Seasoning

  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Soak 1 cup of flax seeds in 1 cup of water for 1 hour until it gels.
  2. Preheat the oven to 150°F or prepare a dehydrator.
  3. Mix the soaked flax seeds with the sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, pepita seeds, and desired herbs.
  4. Spread the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet or dehydrator sheet.
  5. Sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper.
  6. Bake in the oven for 50-70 minutes, flipping once, until crispy.
  7. If using a dehydrator, dehydrate for about 90 minutes on each side at 115°F.
