Easy Crispy Smoked Chicken Wings

Ingredients

The chicken wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings

The seasoning

  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Optional barbecue sauce

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the smoker to 250 degrees F and add wood chips.
  2. Mix all the seasonings in a small bowl until well combined.
  3. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels.
  4. Generously apply the seasoning rub to all sides of the chicken wings.
  5. Let the seasoned chicken sit for 30 minutes to absorb flavors and come to room temperature.
  6. Place the wings in a shallow foil pan or directly on the smoker rack.
  7. Smoke the chicken wings for 60 to 75 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees F.
  8. If desired, coat the wings with barbecue sauce before serving.
