Homemade Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 6 oz. tomato paste
  • 6 oz. water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat a medium pot over medium-high heat and combine tomato paste, water, and olive oil until it begins to boil.
  2. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then add the remaining ingredients, reserving some parsley for garnish.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 5 to 8 minutes.
  4. If the sauce is too thick, add more water by the tablespoon until desired consistency is reached.
  5. Garnish with remaining parsley before serving.
