Ingredients

  • cup coconut sugar or muscovado sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ½ cup unsweetened apple juice
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan over medium-high heat and stir well.
  2. Once bubbling, reduce heat to low and let simmer, adjusting heat as necessary to maintain a gentle bubble.
  3. Cook uncovered for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. For deeper flavors, cook an additional 5-10 minutes if desired.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or spices as needed.
  5. Allow to cool completely before transferring to a glass container for storage.
