Savory Baked Tofu

Ingredients

The tofu

  • 1 package extra firm tofu (14-ounce)

The marinade

  • 2 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
  • ½ tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon hot sauce

The coating

  • ½ cup flour (all-purpose or gluten-free)

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess liquid for about 15 minutes.
  2. Slice the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes.
  3. Mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, and hot sauce in a bowl.
  4. Gently mix the cubed tofu with the marinade and refrigerate for about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  6. Dredge the marinated tofu cubes in flour and place them on a baking dish.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown, then remove and cool.
