Easy Baked Tofu

Ingredients

The tofu

  • 1 lb extra firm tofu

The marinade and seasonings

  • ½ tablespoon light soy sauce or liquid aminos
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or any oil
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with a silicone mat.
  2. Press the tofu for at least 30 minutes, then cut it into 1-inch cubes.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the pressed tofu with light soy sauce and olive oil, tossing to coat.
  4. Add cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, sea salt, and black pepper to the tofu and toss again to combine.
  5. Spread the marinated tofu pieces on the lined baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, flipping the tofu halfway through cooking.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
