General Tso's Chicken

The sauce

Instructions
- 1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then prepare the egg mixture.
- 2. Mix the flour and cornstarch in a shallow bowl.
- 3. Heat the oil in a deep pot to 350°F.
- 4. Dip each chicken piece in the egg mixture, then coat with the flour mixture.
- 5. Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown, about 5 minutes each.
- 6. While the chicken cooks, heat vegetable oil in a saucepan and sauté garlic and red pepper flakes.
- 7. Whisk together chicken broth, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, and cornstarch.
- 8. Add the sauce mixture to the pan and simmer until thickened.
- 9. Toss the fried chicken in the sauce and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
