Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare an 8x8-inch baking dish.
- Melt the chopped chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, then let it cool.
- Sift together the whole wheat pastry flour, all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Whisk the granulated sugar into the cooled chocolate mixture, then add eggs one at a time, stirring until smooth.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, then slowly add the beer, folding in the chocolate chips last.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Let the brownies cool before removing them from the pan.
- For the frosting, beat the butter until fluffy, then gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and stout until smooth.
- Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies, slice, and serve.
