Stout Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients

  • ½ cup stout
  • 10 ounces 60% bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 units eggs
  • 1 cup flour

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F and prepare a 9" x 9" baking pan with aluminum foil and cooking spray.
  2. 2. Bring the stout to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for about 10 minutes until reduced to ¼ cup. Set aside to cool.
  3. 3. Melt the chocolate chips and butter in a double boiler, stirring occasionally until melted.
  4. 4. Pour the melted chocolate into a medium bowl and cool slightly. Mix in the sugar, vanilla, salt, and stout.
  5. 5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until just combined before adding the next egg.
  6. 6. Fold in the flour and pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan.
  7. 7. Bake for one hour or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool in the pan for 2 hours or overnight for best cutting.
