Ingredients

The dough

  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour
  • ½ cup lukewarm water
  • tablespoons sugar

The filling

  • cup red bean paste

The coating

  • ½ cup roasted white sesame
  • 4-6 cups oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Combine glutinous rice flour, water, and sugar in a bowl and knead until smooth.
  2. Divide the red bean paste and dough into 10 equal pieces, covering them to prevent drying.
  3. Flatten each piece of dough, place the filling in the center, and seal tightly.
  4. Coat each ball with water and roll in sesame seeds to cover evenly.
  5. Heat oil to 158°F (70°C) in a pot and deep fry the sesame balls in batches until golden brown.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately.
