Ingredients

The sugar

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

The vanilla

  • 1 bean vanilla bean (5 to 7-inches long)

Instructions

  1. Add sugar to a food processor or medium bowl.
  2. Cut the vanilla bean in half lengthwise and scrape the seeds into the sugar.
  3. Pulse or whisk to combine for about 10 to 15 pulses.
  4. Slice the vanilla pods to fit an airtight container and add them to the sugar.
  5. Allow the mixture to blend for 2 weeks for best results.
