Instructions
- Brown the butter by cooking it in a pot over high heat until it foams and turns dark brown.
- Combine the brown sugar with the browned butter and spread it in a 9x13 inch casserole dish.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Cut the bread slices in half and arrange them over the caramel layer in the casserole dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, milk, sugars, salt, and vanilla, then pour it over the bread.
- Bake for 32 to 35 minutes until the top is browned and the custard is set.
- While baking, prepare the Eggnog Sauce by simmering eggnog, milk, sugar, and butter, then thicken with a flour mixture.
- Serve the baked French toast with cinnamon sugar dust and Eggnog Sauce.
