Ingredients

The chicken

  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts

The seasoning blend

  • ¾ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

The cooking liquid

  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Pour water into the bottom of the Instant Pot and place the trivet over it.
  2. In a small bowl, mix salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
  3. Sprinkle half of the seasoning mix over the chicken breasts, flip them, and season the other side.
  4. Place the seasoned chicken on the trivet in a single layer.
  5. Secure the lid and set the steam release valve to sealing.
  6. Cook at high pressure for 8 minutes.
  7. Let the pressure naturally release for 5 minutes, then vent any remaining pressure.
  8. Check the internal temperature of the chicken; it should reach at least 160ºF.
  9. Transfer the chicken to a plate and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
